I discovered this trail some time ago and knew it had great caching
potential.
However, when first discovered the trail head had so much trash
that it was utterly disgusting. For that reason on Earth Day 2006 I
organized a CITO Event that was an overwhelming success. Over 60
Geocachers rose to the challenge and were able to remove over
5000Kgs of trash from the trailhead. Yes that’s right 5 Metric
tonne of trash left behind by ignorant people. Now most of the
trail entry points are barricaded with large boulders to keep the
litter bugs away and the trail has remained pretty clean ever
since.
Following this wonderful trail to the end will bring you to Big
Indian Lake. This used to be a crucial point for the Halifax
Watershed and the remains of a pump house can still be seen on the
shores of the lake.
While seeking out this cache be sure to look for the two other
caches en-route, GCV32W, Snakes of Nova Scotia ~ CK's Nature
School and GCZW4M - Old Watershed Road.
The cache itself is a small Lock-n-Lock container suitable for a
log book and small trade items.
