Grandpa Bear Jones is no relation to Papa Bear Smith, Mama Bear Smith or Baby Bear Smith. In fact, the only thing he shares with them is that he likes the Hawkeyes and thorny areas, like Baby Bear Smith. He likes to sleep in this spot, and because he's hard of hearing the surrounding thorny areas protect him from approaching cachers, as their yelps will wake him before they arrive. If you are careful, you can walk in and out without contacting anything prickly. Go in between campsite signs 219 and 220 - when I was there, there was a yellow ribbon just above the trailhead, but I think that will go once the tree it's attached to is removed. Have fun with this BGT ammo box cache!
