Buck Mystery Cache

The search for missing 6-year-old John Smith had a happy ending, when the Lower Heidelberg Elementary School kindergartner was brought home cold and scared, but otherwise uninjured.
John told his parents that after he realized he was lost, he found a large fallen tree and curled up there. He thought he fell asleep for a time, but wasn't sure.
He also said that Buck, the smaller of the two dogs, kept leaving and then coming back to him before finally disappearing altogether.
John, worried about his dog, asked volunteers to stay and search for him. Buck was found trapped in a hollow log and had to be pulled free. Buck was not injured.
