Geocache Description:

The listed coordinates are not the location of the cache. The cache is not there.

Below are the first letters of the words in the first line of popular Christmas tunes.

Your job is to figure out the song and then the first line. The number at the end indicates which word in the line is important. Count the letters in that word and fit it into the appropriate place to get the final coordinates for the cache. However some of these are red herrings. Eliminate the red herrings and then use the remaining ones IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER (first five north, second five west) to find the cache at

42 ??.???   71 ??.???

For example:        X = OTWOIF (3)

This familiar Christmas song is "Let it Snow" and the first line is "Oh the weather outside is frightful". The significant word is the third word, which is "weather", a seven letter word. Therefore the letter X would have a value of 7.

PLEASE NOTE: You are looking for the first LINE and not the title although in some cases they may be the same.

The container is a large ammo box. Original contents include a log book and pen, finder's stickers (please take one as souvenir - no need to trade), and other typical trade items. There is a FKTF prize which is intended for the first kid (12 years old or younger) who is present when finding the cache.

The round trip distance is approximately three quarters of a mile and includes a moderate hill. You can stay on trails for almost the entire way but there are many trails and so you may want to mark your return route. This is an ideal place for XC skiing (novice to intermediate) or mountain biking.

Please feel free to email me with questions or to confirm coordinates.

Oh by the way, the numbers 1, 5, 8, and 9 are not used in the final coordinates

To find the best parking add .222 to the north decimal minutes and add .270 to the west decimal minutes.

I hope that this is fun for your whole family. Happy Holidays!

Good luck!
