Geocache Description:

The Ridge Wood is located just East of the town of Brampton in Cumbria. A great place for a walk with views north to Scotland and south to the Pennines on a good day. Paths are steep in places with muddy sections.

There are several places to start but a good place is on the edge of Brampton at N 54 56.601 W 002 43.645 where you can park on the roadside. Brampton Ridge is signposted and there is also an interesting use of an old boat on the roadside. The cache is located on the north eastern end of the ridge just out of the Ridge Wood. The cache is a small tuperware box inside a black plastic bag. It is possible to do a circular walk returning via the road known as The Swartle (see relevant OS map).
