Geocache Description:

DO NOT GO TO THE ABOVE COORDS unless, of course, you want to end up smack in the middle of the Appleton Sewage Treatment Plant! YUCK! This cache is dedicated to Marc_54140 and his 4000th cache! It is a log-only puzzle cache. BYOP.

So, in honor of Marc’s milestone, I decided to hide a cache today. So off I went. As I was traveling around looking for an appropriate place, I began to think about the awesome records that some of the local cachers had achieved. “Wow, Dinktank has 1075 finds, and Team Wheezer 1379, Miata 1503, Cache_boppin_BunnyFuFu 1586, Team Honeybunnies 3056, Zuma 3082, and of course Marc’s 4000! Those are awesome totals!”   After I had hid the cache I started home and realized that my GPSr had gone a little wacky. It lost the coords to “3999 But who’s counting?”.    Luckily I had remembered the code I was going to use and quickly wrote it down.

But on the way home all those other numbers got mixed up in my mind so I tried very hard to not forget or mix up the coords with the other numbers.  I did my best to remember the numbers.

“Now what were those coords? …1075? or 2803?  or was it 13112?   Yikes!”

I realized that I was getting very mixed up.

When I got back home I frantically scribbled down the numbers running through my head.

“Oh no!  All those other numbers really messed me up!”  I searched my memory for how I ended up with those numbers.  “Let’s see, I got to those numbers from here…”.  Once again I scribbled furiously until I figured out how I got to the previous set of numbers.

“Whew!  I think I can recover the whole thing now,” I thought to myself.  “Just two more iterations and I should be back to the original set of numbers!”  When I was done, I did indeed have the original numbers. How lucky was that?  My paper looked like this:

111211171118111512181112

Relieved to have avoided a giant mistake, I took the new coordinates and published this cache in honor of Marc’s 4000!

This Cache was inspired by Foon, TroupB-B, and Sgt Stitches of California. However, the names and coordinates were changed to protect the innocent.
