Geocache Description:

Cache is located in a small park just east of Caldwell, Ohio. It is a blue plastic circular container, about 3 times as large as a 35mm film container, so can contain some small trading items.
It is almost a 1 for terrain and difficulty and on nice, dry days may even be accessable by wheelchair. However due to the low lying area, when it has been raining the ground is much too soggy for wheel chairs.

This park commemorates the drilling of a salt well back in the early 1800s when the area was first settled. Salt was (and is) a very important part of our lives and was generally unavailble in the area. They learned that there were pockets of salt water underground and began drilling for the water then evaporating it for the salt.
This well also gave them an undesired extra, black oil (visit link)
At that time there was no use for oil. The entrepenuer who drilled this well decided to put it to good use however and bottled it and sold it as 'Seneca Oil' a cure all liniment!
There is also an old red railroad caboose (old # 33) of the BZ&C or Bent, Zigzag and Crooked, Railroad on the site which is interesting, as we do not use cabooses anymore, and they are a disappearing entity. The caboose was always on the end of the train, and is where the brakeman rode when the train was moving, It also served as sleeping quarters for the train crew. Modern trains do not require a brakeman, therefore, no more cabooses.

There is also an earth cache located at this site "Ohio Black Gold" GC17T3G.
I have noticed that several cachers that have logged this cache did not log the earthcache, no sense in missing an easy extra smiley.
