Geocache Description:

The Garden Route dam is one of the best kept secrets of George. It is a beautiful dam that has much to offer to anglers, runners, bikers and quads. The plantation trees in the area has resently been cut down. This opened up the area to a wonderful view.

Use old Knysna/ George road. Turn left in Meyer street. Entrance to dam at S 33 57.888, E 22 29.817. Turn left at S 33 57.906, E 22 30.304. NEW CO-ORDS = S 33 57 46.5, E 22 30 18.216

The initial cache contents are:

- gemstone
- car
- scented candle
- butterfly
- marble
- pebble

Small note on cache maintenance: Please take note that although the owner of this cache stays some distance from the cache, special arrangements have been made to maintain the cache, should it be necessary. Fellow cachers, friends and family in the vicinity will do the honours. Cache placements in South Africa are minimal related to the number of cachers playing the treasure hunt game especially in the Garden Route area. We will be placing at least 30 caches during this December 2006 holiday season – so watch this space.
