Geocache Description:

This site is located in Noble Co east of I77 near Belle Valey Ohio

This is one of three sites that the giant Navy Derrigable the USS Shenandoah crashed in September of 1925. This site is where the Control Car crashed into the earth from altiltude. 14 People lost there lives including the Captain. To reach this location from I-77 exit 28 at the Belle Valley exit and go west on SR 821 2.9 miles and turn right on Halleys Ridge Road (Noble Co 37) then travel 1.7 miles and just after crossing over I-77 turn left onto Johny Woods River Road (CR12) then left on Shenandoah Rd (TR112) go up the steep hill. The location is off to the left. The site is actually on private property but the caretaker of this site has given permission to view this site. It is the owner of Raynor's garage in Ava. His father who recently passed away used to be the caretaker of Site#1 and #2. Bryan Raynor Who has a mobile History Musium of the Crash sites of the Shenandoay at Raynor's Garage in Ava Oh. He is now takeing over for his father as the caretaker of the sites. Visit this site for pictures and history of the Shenandoah. (visit link) This is a micro cache. No room except for the log. Bring your own pencil. You must put the log in the cap first to get it back together.
