Just off the coast path near Borth with gorgeous views of Cardigan Bay. A tupperware container that should be fairly easy to find.
This cache can be approached from the southern end of Borth, or from the coast path which heads south from Borth through Wallog, Clarach and on to Aberystwyth.
From Borth it is a short walk up Craig-yr-Wylfa to the War Memorial where you have wonderful views out across Cardigan Bay and on towards Snowdonia to the north. If you are lucky you will see dolphins or porpoises which are common in this area along with surfers, windsurfers and kitesurfers enjoying the 3 mile long stretch of Borth Beach. In the summer the beach can be quite busy with holiday-makers.
The beach itself is also home to a fossil forest, often visible at low tide. The fossil forest is comprised of the remains of pines and birches, in a bed of peat lying on grey clay. The "forest" is believed to have flourished about 6000 years ago, when sea levels were lower.
Safety Notes: Do keep in mind that this is a coast path which can at times be narrow with steep drops off the cliffs. The path can also be muddy and slippery when wet. Although slightly off the path there is no need to approach the cliff edges to retrieve the cache.
