Starkey Loop Traditional Cache

duhgee: Looks like the 2 recent Valentines Day finds barely squeezed in a find. I went today to retrieve the cache, and confirmed that in fact you do not need to cross any 'no trespassing' signs. As yesterday's almost-newbies found, if you keep close to the fence then you won't risk trespassing. But, in the interest of the owners of the nearby land, and to protect them from those who can't seem to avoid trespassing, I've removed the cache. It's still one of the best spots for a cache that I've seen, and still a great hike.

Geocache Description:

A simple cache on a nice mildly rugged hike at the Starkey Hill Conservation area.

Parking/trailhead for Starkey Hill is north of the cache at N43.32.716' W080.09.419' on Arkell Rd between Watson and Nassagaweya Puslinch Townline. There's a 1.5 km hike from there to the top of the loop, ~ 250 meters from the cache. It'll take you ~ 20 minutes to get there if you approach the cache from the east, but plan on an hour and do the whole loop - it's such a nice trail with rolling hills, several ponds, old trees, and lots of birds (even some birdhouses along the way so bring some seeds if you'd like to feed the birds). It can get pretty muddy in the spring/fall and buggy in the summer, but it's a favourite spot for dog walkers year-round, so watch out for muggles when branching off the trail. And as usual, please tread lightly as it's a conservation area. At time of placement, the medium sized ammo case had a toy truck, nose whistle, flashing top, stretchy animals, 2007 calendar, Go Fish card game, "Ride like a pro" motorcycle CD, a Smore travel bug, a plastic bag for CITO, and $5 in Canadian Tire money for FTF.
