This cache has been archived.

hoys: Sorry, everyone. Looks like this one has been stolen. Given this cache's unique history (muggled twice, replaced once, and required police intervention when someone put a packet of white powder in it), I think this one's had an interesting run and it's time to end it.

I'll have to come up with a new idea for a cache in this park someday.

Thanks to all who have visited and enjoyed it, sorry to those who were disappointed not finding it.

Geocache Description:

An easy cache, though it does involve climbing up a somewhat steep (but short) hill. There is a trail nearby that goes up the hill a little more gently (look at the end of the parking lot on the same side of the road as the playground). Best accessed from Foreside Road (more parking).

This cache is located in the upper portion of the Topsham recreational field. This is my daughter's favorite play area. It is also a popular area for soccer and softball. Parking is available on both sides of Foreside road.

We live less than a mile down the road, so I quite often put her in her trailer and we bike down to the park to play.

There's a good chance you'll see military aircraft overhead, especially if you arrive around noon or early evening. The area is in direct line with the runway of the Brunswick Naval Air Station.

Cache was moved on 2/25/07 due to vandalism, and moved again 9/1/08 due to further vandalism.

New location is near the entrance to the "upper" soccer field, so please be discreet and hide the cache well when you are done. Thanks.

NOTE: Restrooms and water fountain are not open in the winter.
