Well.....Read On!

The Johnson County Conservation Board and the Iowa Geocachers Organization are hosting a day-long geocache event at FW Kent Park ( west of Iowa City) .

Date: Feburary 17th, 2007
Time: 9am - 4pm
Location: Conservation Education Center at FW Kent Park

The general agenda will be:
  • Beginners Topics -
Things like how to use the geocaching web site(s), how to get waypoints into the GPS and how to use the GPS.

  • Field Portion -
Go outside and hunt a few geocaches placed for the event.

  • Pot Luck lunch -
Bring your own table service and drink and bring a dish to share.

  • Advanced Topics -
Demonstrations of various software programs useful to geocaching, including waypoint management, mapping and PDA applications. If you have a laptop or PDA that you use for geocaching, we suggest you bring them for this portion of the event so you can follow along.

NOTE: We still need some folks to demonstrate waypoint management software (i.e. EasyGPS, Watcher) and PDA applications (i.e. Cachemate, GPXSonar). Please contact WindChill if you are able to help with these.
