Geocache Description:

The David Weld Sanctuary is managed by the Nature Conservancy and is located off Short Beach Road in Nissequoge. The entrance is very easy to miss and there's only parking for 6 cars. There is a memorial stone for Mollie and David Weld located inside the sanctuary at these coordinates: N40º 54.483 W073º 12.528

There are several trails located throughout the sanctuary. I have positioned the first part of the cache near GCRYQ5, this is an easy stop on the way back from GCRYQ5. Part 2 & part 3 are on the way back to the parking lot.

The sanctuary has a lot of wildlife (rabbits, chipmunks, bluejays, cardinals) so walking slowly will keep them from being spooked.

A fair warning to those traveling by car through Nissequoge - Please do not speed, the local police department (Nissequoge) loves to hand out tickets for people not observing the actual posted speed limits, even if you're exceeding them by a couple of miles.

Parking Coordinates:

Part #1 coordinates:
N 40º 54.663
W 073º 12.572

When you get to part 1, you will find a small clearing with a lonesome bench facing the water. On the bench there is a dedication plaque. I believe the dedication is for a firefighter who passed away while helping on 9/11, although his first and middle names were reversed. You will need to use the information found on there to get coordinates for part #2

Fill in the answers to the questions, then substitute:

Number of A's on the plaque ___ = X
Double the number of O's on the plaque ___ = Y
Number of lines of text on the plaque ___ = Z

Coords for part #2:

NX0º 5X.Y0Z
W073º 1Z.YY7

After finding part 2, walk up to the end of the meadow for a scenic overview of Long Island Sound and Connecticut shoreline. Very photogenic. There's a trail to the left that leads to the beach.

Part #3 is a green ammo can with the following initial items:
FTF prize
Two Marriott Pens
One Bic automatic pencil
Log Book
Single use camera (Please do not remove from the cache, but feel free to take a photo!)
Roadrunner Yo-Yo
A small bottle of Purel
GPS food (2xAA batteries)
High Bounce ball
