Geocache Description:

This cache is in the historic Mount Vernon section of Baltimore City. It was the first major monument devoted to our first president.

The monument is open to the public (and for a buck) you can climb the 228 stairs for a spectacular view of Baltimore.

The cache is reasonably well-hidden. There are many muggles most of the time. The cache requires a bit of effort to extract. While there, walk around and appreciate the architecture and peace of the park. Since Sept 2006, the Walter's Art Gallery, at the south end of the park, is now free to enter and is a real gem!
