t was supposed to be the final hiding spot for the ancient loot.. Vinny carefully opened the secret compartment which he had discovered between the 2 large columns, underground in an undocumented tunnel.. After being inspired by viewing movies such as "National Treasure" and watching the "Da Vinci Code" 548 times, he had searched for clues to a treasure, hidden by the Templars that was sure to be somewhere on the planet...

A bizarre chain of unlikely events and "clues" had brought him there. The trail had started with a study of the Knights Templar that went back to 1307, when Pope Clement condemned the Order's members, had them arrested, tortured into giving false confessions, and burned at the stake. Eventually the Templars had disbanded and disappeared. Although this had occured in France, he believed that clues were sure to be elsewhere, perhaps veiled in some popular literature...

...And in 1307 over in Italy, Dante Alighieri was writing the "Divine Comedy". Italian was a very new language at the time, and this poem would eventually pave the way for major acceptance of it. His attention had turned to a 700 year old unsolved mystery that was in the poem at Canto 33.43. A subsequent investigation, along with physical artifacts from his trips to Paris and Rome, (as well as an obscure wine shop just outside Bordeaux) all had led to where he was standing now, opening the secret compartment. He cracked open the box which had supposedly been sealed for ages and found only an envelope with the words: ""Ancient Source Code" written in modern English on the cover. Inside was only a single sheet of parchment with 2 columns of writing...

But what did it mean? Could some lemon juice applied to the document uncover any invisible ink? He squinted as he looked at the paper and noticed a few words that definitely should not be on such a document of that age...Did he somehow stumble upon a different puzzle? Wrinkling his nose, he thought perhaps he was having some bizarre dream and remembered the few "missing" bottles of his case of Sauvignon Blanc that had mysteriously reappeared completely empty when he had gotten up that morning...Vinny also thought to himself and wondered if his coworkers at the top-secret radioactive goat/alien breeding facility had noticed anything amiss about his extended absence...
