Walk The Line III Traditional Cache

This cache is one of a series along the Downs Link long distance cycle path. This footpath and bridleway links the North Downs Way at St Martha’s Hill, Surrey with the South Downs Way near Steyning, West Sussex and on via the Coastal Link to Shoreham by-Sea. Most of the 37 mile trail follows former railway lines.

We have taken a slight liberty with this cache as it is not actually along the path, but is not too far away. To find it, you need to park near N51 05.612 W000 27.363 (you will have to use the road side – maybe North of the bridge).

Your next task is to find the Downs Link. You can either take the little path just to the North of the bridge or take the farm track path that joins the Downs Link after a few hundred yards. Proceed to N 51 06.007 W00 27.544 where you can take a seat to enjoy the view. On the way, you will pass the entrance to a sealed off tunnel – real Famous Five stuff!

The cache, a regular Tupperware style box, is hidden in woodland. It contains a good number of swaps and a log book.
