In high school, I always thought that Mathematics were Far Out.
Maybe it was the teachers or my love for English, History and Music
that distracted me. With the proliferation of easily accessible
information on the Internet, I’ve learned more about Math in my
30’s than I ever did in school.
In mathematics, a prime number (or a prime) is a natural number
that has exactly two (distinct) natural number divisors, which are
1 and the prime number itself. There exists an infinitude of prime
numbers, as demonstrated by Greek Mathematcian Euclid in about 300
B.C.
The non-prime numbers are referred to as natural numbers and are
the ones we’re accustomed to using everyday in simple arithmetic
and sequential counting.
