Swing Lower (Historic Site) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Professor Xavier: This cache has been disabled for over a year now with no indication that the CO is intending any maintenance. The last note was 6 months ago warning of high water levels - since then the UK has been in drought conditions.

I feel the CO has had plenty of opportunity to check on the status of this cache so I am therefore archiving it.

As it has been archived for non-maintenance/no communication it cannot be unarchived.

You can read more about that here - (click link)

Geocache Description:

H25154

A physical version of the virtual cache "Swing Low".

Swing Lower Cache

NOTE: THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF FAKE LOGS. THE CACHE IS CHECKED REGULARLY AND LOGS THAT HAVE NO MATCHING SIGNATURE WILL BE DELETED! The cache is a 35mm film canister in plain sight, covered in high visibility tape, attached by magnets. The cache has been moved slightly to avoid muggles removing it. Now sits on the topside of the bottom plate of the I-beam, 3rd beam from the River, facing the canal. See spoiler photo.

Please note that the cache is not on the swing bridge itself, the coordinates are extremely accurate, and rendered well by Google Maps. If you adopt the intended access method to this cache, you will enjoy an intimate view of the historic railway swing bridge either before or after visiting the cache location. Please do not climb onto the swing bridge. It is a fragile listed structure.

This cache is not meant to be easy. If you cannot retrieve and replace the cache and sign the logbook, then please do not log a find.

The historic swing bridge is in the centre of the photo, with the yellow and black indicator boards. Please don't climb on it!
