Geocache Description:


At the time this cache was placed, one popular section of sidewalk leading to Santana Row was closed for construction. This unforeseen detour led to the discovery of a slightly beaten down path from an adjacent street into Santana Row. The name of this cache jokingly comes from this "path" and from the multiple "Secret Trailhead" caches planted by other geocachers across the Bay Area. Please beware that the residential street next to the cache is permit parking only and the neighbors here are sometimes quite attentive to this point. Please use nearby free parking instead, if possible.

UPDATE (22:48 - 08/12/08) - The old micro container has now been replaced with a regular container. The camouflage worked better than I thought it would and I have adjusted the difficulty rating as best I can estimate (though feedback on that point would be appreciated). When you find the cache, please be careful and gentle with the camo; I am not sure how sturdy and enduring it will be. Also, note that without a hint, this cache may be quite difficult to find at night.

UPDATE (20:07 - 08/17/08) - After two DNF's, the difficulty rating has been raised. If any further DNF's ensue, I may provide a hint. Please note that the GPS reception at this exact location is often oddly poor. Also, the cache is highly camouflaged.

UPDATE (22:35 - 08/17/08) - After now receiving a third DNF, I have upgraded the difficulty rating.

LATEST UPDATE (03/28/09) - The cache has been replaced in its original style. I hope to upgrade it to a larger and more clever cache sometime.
