Geocache Description:


Der Cache liegt etwa 1,6 km Wegstrecke vom Bahnhof St. Egyden im Steinfeld entfernt. Am einfachsten geht man der Bahnlinie entlang bis zu einer Brücke über die Bahn, von dort dann auf die Waldschlagfläche. Ist ein komfortabler Weg, ohne weiteres auch per Fahrrad zu machen.
Der Cache besteht aus einer Plastikbüchse, mit einer grünen Plastiktasche umwickelt. Der Cache enthält ein Log, Bleistift und Spitzer (bitte drin lassen!), Kaugummi, Fizzers und ein Lotterielos.

Das Steinfeld ist ein Brutgebiet des Ziegenmelkers (Caprimulgus europaeus). Für sein Revier bevorzugt der Vogel offene Flächen wie z.B. so eine Waldschlagfläche. Er ist ein nachtaktiver Zugvogel. Im Mai und Juni sollte in der Umgebung des Caches bei Nacht sein charakteristischer Gesang zu hören sein. Ein Hörbeispiel gibt es beispielsweise auf (visit link)

The Cache lies in about 1.6 km of distance from the railway station Saint Egyden. An easy way is the railway line along up to a bridge above the line, then in the open field. You can use a bicycle. The Cache is a plastic tin, wrapped with a green plastic bag. It contains a log, pencil and sharpener (please don´t remove!), chewing gum, Fizzers and a lottery ticket. The region "Steinfeld" is a breeding area of the night jar (Caprimulgus europaeus). This bird prefers vacant lands as for example such open spaces in a forest. It´s a nocturnal and migrating bird . In nights of May and June you should hear its typical song in the surroundings of the Cache. You can find an example at (visit link)
