sandjscott: Apparently jhm amb did move our geocache because no one has been able to find it since they put in a note stating that it was moved to the gazebo at Lincolnshire Lake. Thanks to newbies for taking the geocache so that no one else could enjoy it. Sent them a note requesting information which they ignored. We are no longer in the area to replace it, so I am just disabling it. Sorry! :(!

Geocache Description:

Camo lip balm cylinder...just large enough for a log. Should be a park, very short walk, and grab.

BYOP! This container only provides room for the log. We had wanted to place a virtual cache at Fort Witten, then found that all the fun virtual caches we had recently found were old grandfathered caches :o(. Oh well.

While in the area you can visit the historical marker, grab some brochures (if there are any available), and see Fort Witten for free. If you have a little more time and don't mind the nominal fee you can check out Crab Orchard Museum which has info on the history of this area including artifacts from early settlers and Native Americans. Each summer there is a Civil War re-enactment that takes place in the fields across the highway from the museum.
