Penyal d'Ifac: El Túnel

Calpe's famous symbol is the "Penyal d'Ifac" (Valenciano) or the "Peñon de Ifach" (High Spanish). This big rock, situated in the sea with a connection to the land, has an altitude of 332 meters and a longitude of 1 km.
Everybody who had climbed up to the top, knows that the rocky and steep path, partly secured by ropes, is something else than easy and a good condition and trekking shoes are requested. You must not have fear of heights.
To give also the "normal" tourist the possibility to log a cache on the most famous rock of the Costa Blanca, I hid this cache before the tunnel where the way is still easy. You have a beautiful view to Calpe with its two wonderful broad sandy beaches, the harbour and the surroundings. As this way is very popular in the holiday season and on weekends, I ask you kindly to be very stealthy that the cache keeps there a long time.
From the parking area you reach the "Túnel" in 20 minutes, on a good way. From the tunnel starts the rocky path up to the peak. When you come down, I recommend you to see the exhibition about the natural park with its fauna and flora, you find the opening hours on one of my photos. Near to the "Aula de Naturaleza" is a picnic area with viewing points. As the GPS signal is not so good in this area, I recommend you to read the HINT. Please camouflage the cache how it was with some grass over the stones. Thank you.

El símbolo de Calpe es el "Penyal d'Ifac" (valenciano) o el "Peñon de Ifach" (castellano). Esta roca dentro del mar unido a tierra por un estrecho istmo, tiene 332 m de altura y un kilómetro de longitud.
Quien le ha subido al Peñon, sabe que el sendero empinado y rocoso, parcialmente protegido por una cuerda, no es fácil y precisa una buena condición y botas de montaña. No se debe tener miedo de altura.
Para que tenga un turista "normal" la posibilidad de loguear un caché en la roca más famosa de la Costa Blanca, escondí este cache antes del túnel donde está el camino aun facil. Tenéis una vista fabulosa a Calpe con sus dos playas de arena bonitas y anchas, al puerto y a los alrededores. Como este camino está muy popular sobre todo en tiempos de vacaciones y los fines de semana, os ruego tener mucho cuidado que no os vean sacar el caché y esconderlo. A ver si nos queda mucho tiempo.
Desde el parking hasta el Túnel tardaréis 20 minutos en un buen camino. A partir del túnel empieza el sendero rocoso hacía el pico. Otra vez abajo, os recomiendo visitar la exposición sobre el Parque Natural con su fauna y flora, el horario encontráis en una de mis fotos. Cerca de la "Aula de Naturaleza" hay una zona de picnic con miradores. Como el GPS señal no está muy bien en esta zona, os recommiendo leer el HINT. Despues de loguear el cache, ponerlo como era, camuflada con la hierba.

Calpes Wahrzeichen ist der "Penyal d'Ifac" (valencianisch) oder der "Peñon de Ifach" (hochspanisch). Dieser im Meer gelegene und mit dem Festland verbundene Fels ist 332 Meter hoch und 1 km lang.
Wer ihn schon bestiegen hat, weiss, dass der steile und felsige, teils mit Seilen gesicherte Weg hinauf zum Gipfel alles andere als einfach ist und eine gute Kondition, Bergschuhe und Schwindelfreiheit erfordert.
Um auch dem "normalen" Touristen die Gelegenheit zu geben, am bekanntesten Felsen der Costa Blanca einen Cache zu loggen, habe ich diesen Cache vor dem Tunnel versteckt, wo der Weg noch einfach ist. Ihr habt einen herrlichen Blick auf Calpe mit seinen 2 wunderbaren breiten Sandstränden, dem Hafen und das Umland. Da dieser Weg besonders in der Ferienzeit und an Wochenenden sehr beliebt ist, bitte ich Euch, darauf zu achten, dass Ihr nicht beobachtet werdet und so der Cache lange erhalten werden kann.
Den Tunnel erreicht Ihr vom Parkplatz aus in 20 Minuten auf einem guten Schotterweg. Wenn Ihr dann wieder herunten seid, empfehle ich Euch die Ausstellung über den Naturpark mit seiner Fauna und Flora anzusehen, die Öffnungszeiten findet Ihr auf einem meiner Fotos. Es gibt unterhalb einen Picknickplatz und gute Aussichtspunkte. Da das GPS Signal in dieser Gegend nicht so gut ist, empfehle ich Euch, den HINT zu lesen. Tarnt nach dem Loggen den Cache wieder gut mit Gras über den Steinen.
