Our family bought Mountain Dell in the early 40’s. We had 80
acres under cultivation. We raised garden crops which we sold to
the local stores and peddled at the Washington County Fair & at
Peach Days in Hurricane.
We had a good life – lots of hard work, but life was
good.
Dad had a green thumb & could grow anything. Mountain Dell
was known for the good watermelons, apples, corn, squash, peaches
& other produce.
We sold the ranch in the mid 60’s. Dad retired & got a
job taking care of the Bloomington Golf Course, and the family
moved to St. George.
