Geocache Description:

This cache is in Doug Lee Park, in the Carbondale Superblock of sports fields between Lewis Ln. and Giant City Rd.

The area is completely flat with several paved paths through the fields. The way to this cache should be mostly paved, and you should have no trouble getting to it if your wheelchair can make it over a little grass.

The cache is not at the posted coordinates! It's easy to get the final ones though! Just solve the puzzle below!

Carbondale has seen its share of extreme weather, from the famous May 8th 2009 Inland Hurricane, to an ice storm that nearly shut down the city the winter before. We always seem to pull through though, and this cache is a testament to resilience in the face Mother Nature's fury.

To get the coordinates, you need to find the highest and lowest temperatures ever recorded in Carbondale, IL. This information is easily available on a number of publicly accessible sites.

Once you have your information, you can get the final coordinates by adding Carbondale's record high temperature to the last three digits of the posted North coordinates, and adding the record low temperature to the last three digits of the posted West coordinates.

Please note, I'm looking for the highest and lowest temperatures, not heat indexes or wind chills.
