Geocache Description:

A small, log only cache on the little used Shenandoah Mountain Trail.

This cache is in a remote section of the George Washington National Forest on the Shenandoah Mountain Trail. The Shenandoah Mountain Trail was constructed in the 1930's by the CCC and is in great shape, but this southern portion of the trail is used relatively seldom. This cache is placed to encourage more hikers on this part of the trail!

The Shenandoah Mountain Trail is part of the Great Eastern Trail, a new trail under development that would extend from Alabama to New York. The trail is blazed with yellow diamonds.

Remember this: no matter what your GPS tells you, this cache is located within 3 feet of the trail. The cache is a couple of bottle caps glued together (open the non-painted cap). It is just large enough for a log sheet, so pack in your own pen! A big hint is encrypted - don't make this hike only to miss out on the find!
