This cache is a part of puzzle geocache series:

  1. Crypto I: Ancient
  2. Crypto II: Cipher
  3. Crypto III: Key

These three caches will lead you into the world of cryptography that more and more becomes a part of everyday life. If you want to know more about the topic you can read here. The caches are independent, however the above order is recommended.

First cache of this series is entitled 'Ancient'. To solve it, one has to use an ancient decryption method on the following mystery massage:

NE6773124038275165429921574579650367540310046766312338436136009126957577295024328728372806113165424383854693461162669389

The message was found on 5mm wide strip with symbols written every 5mm. To reconstruct it you can print this file, use scissors, and some glue.

Decoded message will have two three-digit numbers that are the missing parts of the cache coordinates: N46°32.??? E015°38.???
