Geocache Description:

So Fernvale is famous for a few things: amazing pies and popular country Sunday markets immediately spring to mind. But one of its most recent claims to fame was that in 2008 the locals’ favourite water hole ‘Savages Crossing’ was the location for the filming of the low-budget movie of the same name starring John Jarratt…I was going to set up a puzzle cache where people had to watch the film but all the reviews I read said it was pathetic so I opted for a traditional instead…

This cache will not be achievable by all and requires what I would consider slightly above average agility. However for those who may not be able to achieve the actual cache, the Crossing itself is well worth the visit and is a particular favourite of families, particularly in Summertime. However it s not recommended to attempt this cache f the river is swollen or flooded.

If you’re coming by canoe I am envious as it’s such a great stretch of river… there is a spot to pull up pretty much next to GZ.

If you have come by motor vehicle park at the waypoint and follow the road (watch out for 4WDs). You should be able to follow the road for majority of the way… the best direction for the final approach to GZ is from the South. Once you get to GZ, if you’re feeling unsure it would probably pay to check the hint and that should have the cache in your hands pretty quickly.

The cache is large enough for swaps and any TBs especially those that want a stint by the water…Oh and the bird life out here is amazing… Look out for a pair of what we think might be Peregrine Falcons (they’re some sort of birds of prey anyway) who have been hanging out opposite the carpark lately…

Final note: Google maps image of this area is not a true reflection of the current state of play at GZ. Congrats to an old hag and Will I am & Co who managed to score this FTF in the dark!
