Geocache Description:

This cache is situated near to Holbeche House.  After the discovery of the Gunpowder Plot in 1605, the flight of the plotters ended here. 

At Holbeche, the conspirators did their best to prepare the house for a siege. During the flight from Warwick Castle their store of gunpowder had become wet from the pouring rain and it was laid out in front of the fireplace to dry. A stray spark landing in the gunpowder caused a sudden explosion that injured several of the plotters

On the following morning (8 November), 200 men led by the High Sheriff of Worcestershire arrived at Holbeche House, having pursued the conspirators here. The battle was short.
 
Holbeche House is now a private nursing home.
 
There was previously a cache situated near here but unfortunately it was archived.  I liked the location so it seemed a shame not to put something back in place.
 
This is a straightforward traditional cache in a camo bag that also contains a little puzzle for you to work out the co-ordinates for the bonus cache, ‘End of the Rainbow’ (GC3XTXF), which is not very far away.
 
There is off road grass verge parking nearby or road parking across the main road.  Take care though because it is a very busy road at times.

You will need to sign the logbook to claim a find on this cache.
