Geocache Description:

Hunt for this micro along after walking a short distance along the William B. Cummings Birding and Wildlife Trail at The Nature Conservancy's Brownsville Preserve.  Please park only at the provided coordinates and stay on the trail. This cache is placed with permission of the landowner.

Cache is only about 1/5th of a mile from the trailhead along a narrow, sometimes bouncy boardwalk.  This portion of the trail traverses a high marsh and scrub forest that is quickly disappearing due to sea level rise.  Keep an eye out for the trees that have begun to die as the water table rises over the years.  A trail map with interperetive information may be available at the trailhead, and is also available online by clicking HERE.  If you wish to continue along the trail, the entire walk is a total of about three miles out and back.

Please observe all of The Nature Conservancy's guidelines.  Pets are not allowed, and during deer season (typically October through early January)  trail hours are restricted to 9 am to 3 pm on Monday through Saturday.  The trail is open all day on Sundays, and The Nature Conservancy does not allow hunting on Sunday.

Mosquitoes and ticks can be intense during the warmer months, so be prepared!

Cell service is often unavailable here!  You'll probably need a GPSr other than your cell phone.

You are looking for a largish bison-style micro tucked away along the trail.  You should be able to reach it without leaving the boardwalk.  I hope that a micro in the middle of nowhere is not too much of a turn off for anyone.  This is my first hide, and since I work for The Nature Conservancy here, I plan on adding more variety of cache sizes and difficulties to the trail in the future.  Any advice is welcome.  Have fun! Congrats to Great Scott on FTF!!!
