IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ

The coordinates have changed for the final location. The old location was very difficult to get to because of thorns and other vegetation. The new location might be easier to get to, but I am not sure what it will be like during the summer.

The puzzle and the checker have not changed. Read below to get directions for correcting the coordinates that you calculate.

DIRECTIONS TO CORRECT THE CALCULATED COORDINATES
|
- Determine the coordinates based on the puzzle on the page.
- Use the checker to see if you have the correct coordinates.
- Once the checker verifies your coordinates ADD 2 TO THE VALUE FOR "E".

Abraham Lincoln was president of the United States from March 4, 1861 until his death on April 15, 1865. This cache will test your knowledge of his time in office.
The cache is not located at the posted coordinates. Do not bother going there because you won't find anything.
In order to find the real coordinates simply solve the following trivia quiz. The real coordinates are:
N42 07.ABC W 079 58.DEF
A = Abraham Lincoln was president number ___. Take the square root of this number to find A.
B = The month Abraham Lincoln was born ___ (for example, if he was born in September use 9).
C = Abraham Lincoln was first elected president in ___. C = the 3rd digit in this year.
D = The Lincoln Douglas debates were held in what year? ___ Take the fourth digit in this year and divide by 4 to find D.
E = In his first election for president there were 996 counties that voted in southern slave states. How many of them went for Lincoln? ___.
F = Lincoln was shot in ___ Theater. How many letters are there in the name of the theater? That total minus 3 (or maybe 4) is F.
Once you figure out the coordinates you still have some work to do. You will have to trudge over uneven muddy/swampy ground, through tough vegetation, up a hill and through a few thorns to get to the cache. I did it, so you can too.
Since the area can be wet, wear appropriate footwear.
This is not a tricky hide - just a little tricky getting to it. It is a standard geostack that you are looking for. Nothing devious.
Have fun!!
