Geocache Description:

Come and have some fun and a picnic in the park.

Time: 12 to about 4pm.
Place: Rhodes Park in Kensington (please use the parking co-ordinates)
What to bring: A picnic blanket, chair, braai, eats etc. Don’t forget your Wherigo device!

Wherigo Scavenger Hunt


I have prepared a scavenger hunt in the park, using the Wherigo app. It will guide each team around the park and you must answer questions along the way, based on things you see. Try to answer the most questions in the shortest time. Teams of one or more can use multiple devices, but only the best time per team will count.
  • Note that this is NOT a Wherigo cache and anyone can log the event cache, whether you try the scavenger hunt or not. Please bring your own Wherigo-enabled device. iPads/Phones and Androids seem to work better than Garmin devices for this.
  • It would be best if you contact me ahead of time so I can e-mail the game cartridge to you. Alternatively we can do a Bluetooth transfer when you arrive. (The cartridge will NOT be available on the Wherigo site).
  • Teams will start the hunt at intervals and I will calculate positions based on most correct answers and then time taken. No prizes, but come along and have fun. If you will be late or have to leave early please tell me so I can accommodate your start time.
  • You will need to allow at least an hour to walk the route. This is a walk in the park, but some parts are muddy and not on paths, so please wear appropriate footwear.
There are also some caches to find in the park and surrounding areas. Hope to see you all there!
