This Medium sized, rubbermaid container is located about 35 feet off of the trail. Lots of Swag to get it started. You can park in the first or second set of parking area and you will be right near the trailhead. There are maps at the trailhead.
This trail is 1.7 miles round trip with a steep climb up and a steep slide down. Dont forget the water, bug spray and pen. The trail is marked by various flares, yellow dots and green Corp of Engenieers marks on trees but there are sections where the trail seems ellusive, use your geo-sense and you'll do fine.
Bring your swim suit and cool off in the lake after this sweaty hike. Bring a picnic and enjoy the firepits, playgrounds and restrooms. I have spent many summer days at this area as a child and now as an adult with my children.
Be sure to check the signs when you enter, the park is usually open 8am -8pm memorial day till columbus day. You could access this in the winter but would have to walk from the locked gate making for a very long walk.
