Great Links Tor is one of those that looks impressive from almost every direction, but (in my opinion) the approach along the old peat railway gives the best views of the tor as you approach it. The large granite massif of Great Links Tor is one that doesn't seem to have suffered too much erosion over time, and can rise up to 40ft above the ground level.
Views across North, South and West stretch for miles on a good clear day since at over 1900ft, it's one of the highest points on Dartmoor.
Come prepared for the worst; the conditions can change rapidly on Dartmoor, and this area is exposed to strong south-west and westerly winds.
