Geocache Description:

This is the second in our Dramway Series.

This was made a multicache, because it was too close to other caches in the area. Therefore you need to gather some information en route, before viewing this charming bridge.

The final hide has been placed in an appropriate area nearby.

The posted co-ordinate is for the bridge itself: N51 28 . 643 W002 28 . 512

This is a lovely stone bridge spanning Warmley Brook. along the old Dramway. The Dramway path is a 15km / 9 mile linear walk that follows sections of the route of a 19th century tramway, which carried coal from Coalpit Heath in the Bristol coalfield, down to the River Avon. The route gives you access to the fascinating remains of the Dramway, which can be seen along the way. There are also opportunities to create your own circular walks, using existing footpaths to connect sections of the Dramway with nearby villages and towns.

Find the following information:

A. What is the name of the Public House on the corner of the access road to this Dramway path? (3 words). Give each word an ordinal number and record the number of letters in each word.

B. How many bench-seats before the Stone bridge?

C. After the bridge, walk along the Dramway path until you find a telegraph pole on the left, what are the two numbers on it? (Give them ordinal numbers C1st, C2nd).

D. Further on, you will see a huge sign for the ring-road, on your right. The bottom row says: S__________ c____________ j___________. Fill in the gaps. How many letters in each word have you had to add in? (Give them ordinal numbers D1st to D3rd).

E. At the top of the huge sign are 3 words in capital letters, what do they say? Count the number of letters in each word. (Give them ordinal numbers E1st to E3rd).

Do the following calculations to find the cache co-ordinate:

N51 (E1st / A3rd) (D1st + C2nd) . (D2nd - B) (A2nd x A3rd - E3rd) (D3rd)

W002 (D2nd - D3rd) (C1st + E2nd) . (E3rd - D3rd) (A1st - B) (C1st / E2nd)

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast. There is a stats listing run by Billiethecat, so you can see how many Little Bridges you have found, you can find it here:- https://littlebridgesseries.wordpress.com/ . If you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan on stanthews@aol.com and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xxxx then the name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to stats list.
