Geocache Description:

A new rookie postman said I’ve not put out any new caches and my puzzles tend to be too hard for many.

So what better for this to set the theme for my first Letterbox type placement.

I’ve named this one Fishermans friend because I’m being a little sweet to you and also you will walk in part along Fishermans Lane.

You will start your quest in the village of Aldermaston where you may park at the page coordinates or find somewhere safer.

If you’ve read the village link above you will have attained a view of the village past and present.

On your walk you will walk towards but not reach Fishermans Cottage and The Old Mill. My research has failed to give any detail on Fishermans Lane or Fishermans Cottage but I would assume the combination had some significance in early times.

Study up on Cricket bats and the Candle Auction as these are areas you will likely pass.

The Cache

Head  to the grocery store where you can fulfill your need of snacks or greater things.

To comply with the need to employ GPS with locating the cache mark the position of the Telephone Box.

Walk along Fishermans Lane for 467 meters where you will take to a grass footpath.

The caches is not at the first LB but is in plain view at another. I’m hoping this plain view placement will survive the casual ramblers but if you encounter an empty true cylindrical hole that was not so.

Good Luck with your Quest

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast. There is a stats listing run by Bloodsock, so you can see how many Little Bridges you have found, you can find it here:- https://littlebridgesseries.wordpress.com/ . If you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan on stanthews@aol.com and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xxxx then the name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to stats list.
