I have always liked looking out for these barn quilts while out for a drive or caching along the back roads, it kind of makes the drive a little more pleasant in
HURON COUNTY.
The designed of this barn quilt as mentioned by the owners and represents 5 children (hearts) – even a set of twins represented by two hearts together. Being a John Deere fan, you will find green and yellow throughout. Planting of crops represented by the corn cob. Gardening, nature and sewing represented here by spools of thread, flowers and a blue jay. Off one spool is the thread that binds our love of family, friends and country. The three clumps of circle flowers represent our 9 grand children, and the leaves intertwined represent our friends and neighbours.
IPM 2017 is where the barn quilt craze mainly started in Huron County as a contest.
Barn quilts originally started there roots in Ohio.
Barn quilts tell stories.
The proper size for a barn quilt is 8'x8'.
They draw motorists to our rural highways, roads that have many stories to tell.
Barn Quilts are rural graffiti – civic art about sacred places, battlefields, and historic locations.
Cache is located by a deep ditch.
As usual always WATCH YOUR STEP, CAN BE A BUSY ROAD, WATCH FOR TRAFFIC.
PLEASE DO NOT FIND this cache at night - the placement is contingent on finds OCCURRING DURING THE DAY.
ABSOLUTELY NO NIGHT CACHING, RESPECT THE NEARBY HOMEOWNERS. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH QUITE A FEW OF THEM AND ASSURED THEM THAT THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN.
Happy Caching
