Several years ago, the nytepyres held an event on Smith Island called Smith Island Meet and Greet. It was a pretty good excuse to make a day trip out and try some Smith Island cake. We even found a geocache after lunch. It was a neat event and at the time we talked about doing an event for Tangier Island but it never came together. I decided it was time to give it a shot and here we are.
This event is on an island, you can only get here by plane or boat. You could kayak or canoe here if you really knew what you were doing. You could take your own power boat if you wanted too. How you get here is up to you! No cars are allowed on the island so even after you get here you will be on foot unless you reserve a bicycle or golf cart. My plan is to catch a ferry and spend a couple of hours. I am sure we will find something to do. For a variety of reasons, I plan to leave from the dock in Reedville, VA. Anybody who wants to go on a little adventure to Tangier Island. I recommend reservations for whatever mode of travel you chose.

We will meet on Main Ridge Rd between Fisherman's Corner and Lorraine's Snack Bar. If we get enough (or too many) people I will call and ask about a reservation. Once we are assembled we will go inside and get something to eat. You are on your own for chow.
