This is the 3rd day of The Ramblers annual walking holiday which this year (2019) they opted for Dartmoor. The first day’s walk had taken the Ramblers to the east of the moor, the 2nd day’s to the west of the moor and today’s walk was to take them south-east from their Okehampton base.
Today’s walk on 17th July was organised by Pauline & Terry one of the 5 couples attending this year’s holiday and they thought that it was time for the group to have a more ambitious walk. So after another early breakfast, they were soon heading through the narrow country lanes of Dartmoor to their starting point of Scorhill. This was a very much more ambitious walk than the previous 2 days and the group were surprised at the wild terrain which greeted them. However, they were not going to be beaten and were soon walking through the Teign Valley and up towards Hangingstone Hill. For most of them this will be just their 3rd day geocaching and they were pleased to see that even in these more remote parts of Dartmoor, there were still many caches to be found. In total they managed to find another 12 caches on a much longer and more difficult walk of 8.3 miles. It was 4pm before they finally returned to Scorhill.
You will need to determine where else they visited and the following photos should be helpful. To find the cache you will need to turn to the right and walk approximately 32 paces. There you will find a post with the the black number GHHJ/H on a yellow background. The cache is at the foot of the post. You will need GHJ to locate the final cache of this series.
