This two stage multi-cache is located in North Anna Battlefield Park. Its over a mile tough and hilly hike in and you're going to get wet so bring appropriate shoes and attire. The trail is very good most of the way but there are some steep ravines with steps so a walking stick would be a plus. Once parked you will follow the blue trail all the way to the provided trail head which is listed as a way point. Once at the given trail head make your way down the small path and work your way to the river. Make sure you take the trail at the waypoint. Bushwacking to the cache from anywhere other than the waypoint could prove to be very treacherous. This terrain is very steep and rocky but no climbing gear is required just go slow and be careful. Once you make your way to the bank of the river you should be able to tell which rock GZ is from the bank. It's the biggest tallest rock in the area where GPS points to.
The name of the cache isn't a joke. This multi cache starts at the bottom of the North Anna River. When I placed this cache the North Anna River gauge was at 3.5 feet. The cache is under about 6 feet of water so you will be completely submerged when retrieving cache. Ground Zero for this cache will take you to the top of a large rock by a waterfall. The rock is about 5 feet tall and easily climbable. The rock is the first one across the first big waterfall/rapid. Considering it may be hard to bring your phone or GPS out to the middle of the river, we will do our best to explain what you are looking for and where it is so you have an idea of where to look once you get out there.
Climb on top of the rock and look downriver and down at the water. The cache is blaze orange. You should be able to see it from the top of the rock. If your feeling adventurous it is safe to jump(not dive) from the rock and just go 6 feet down to the bottom and retrieve the cache. The cache weighs about 20 pounds. After making the find it probably would be best to set the cache onto the rock then climb up on it to retrieve coordinates for stage 2 from cache. A waterproof bag or something of the sort would really come in handy because you'll need a way of writing or remembering the coordinates for stage 2 and keeping them dry on the way back.
