Der Schanzlweiher liegt sehr idyllisch in einem Tal am Ortsrand von Steinach. Wenn man dem Wanderweg weiter folgt, kommt man durch den Schanzlgraben, auch Tälerin genannt. Die Landschaft dort ist fast moorartig mit viel Totholz und lädt zu einem Spaziergang ein. Eine Wanderkarte findet ihr am Parkplatz.
