Number 1713 in a series of caches where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box.
The only rules are that they have to be able to be photographed together, be not more than 100’ apart and the phone boxes have to be red.
The letter box stands outside what was Allington Post Office. Unusually you will notice that it is not very deep in the ground as the depth markers are showing. The semi circles on the black base should be below the ground level. Until very recently, the K6 telephone box was not present. A KX300 (the modern looking, triangular one with no door) stood in the village, which was unusual in itself. For reasons I do not know, but I'm guessing the K6 looks more traditional, the KX300 has been replaced, meaning that Allington now has A Fine Pair.
