Grindstone Nature Area is open from 6 AM to 11 PM. Please note bow hunting is allowed between the months of September and January. Wear hunter orange when appropriate.
Eroded stone declines gently to a babbling brook as one cautiously enters the Forest Perilous. Here, an observant adventurer may discover a small shrine to Cernunnos, celtic god of the hunt. Legend speaks of offerings left to ensure safe passage through the wood.
Beneath the shrine, runes are crudely carved into the small bluff. They are ancient, possibly Anglo-Saxon in origin.

Are these runes merely samples of successful blessings or clues to a more intricate puzzle? Translating them may reveal more but might be tricky. Runes are phonetic and should not be converted to another language directly. Sound them out to hear what they have to say.
