Geocache Description:

🇬🇧 In the 1980s, the provincial clinic in the Black Forest becomes the epicentre of medical and emotional dramas. The young Dr Udo Brinkmann does not only juggle with a scalpel, but also with the hearts of his female patients and colleagues. At the same time, Christa Mehnert transforms from the nurse of his heart into a medical colleague and the wife of his boss and father, Prof Klaus Brinkmann, MD. A web of passionate affairs that is denser than the Black Forest itself. Between surgical interventions, there is plenty of time for emotional operations in the relationship operating theatre.

This cache series (click here for an overview) will take you on a journey through time into the impetuous cosmos of love at the Black Forest Clinic, where fibrillation of the heart rarely has purely medical origins.

If you can't get on with the medical slush, you can simply enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the film locations at the time, without the Brinkmann family and the others in mind. It was important to the producers of the series at the time to show the Black Forest from its most scenic perspective.

🇬🇧 Feeding sparrows and friendly greetings prohibited!
After housekeeper Käthi and pensioner Konstantin Taubricht meet at a bank with a view, they plan their life together in just three episodes. But when Käthi moves in at Konstantin‘s apartment at the Adlerhorst retirement home, it turns out that he is a real control freak and constantly grumbles about little things. Without further ado, Käthi decides that she would rather live with the Brinkmanns again than constantly deal with Konstantin's pedantry. And so the brief but turbulent relationship between the housekeeper and the retired judge ends due to the ban on neither feeding the sparrows nor greeting Mrs Borgwald in a polite manner.

The convent of the Benedictine nuns of St Lioba served as the set to the fictional Adlerhorst retirement home. The buildings were initially erected between 1906 and 1913 as Villa Wohlgemuth on the edge of Freiburg's city forest. The architect Fritz Seitz designed a building in the style of a Tuscan villa according to the specifications of the client, head magistrate August Wohlgemuth. Prompted by inflation, he sold his property to the nuns in 1927 for 275,000 gold marks.

The unobstructed view from the time of filming no longer exists today. From the cache, only the roofs can be seen through the trees. You have a better view from WP01.
