The Wizarding World Geocache Series
"Upon the signature of the International Statute of Secrecy in 1689, wizards went into hiding for good. It was natural, perhaps, that they formed their own small communities within a community."
— The secrecy surrounding the wizarding world
The Wizarding World, also referred to as the magical community, is the society in which wizards and witches live and interact, separate from non-wizarding society. The two communities are kept separate through the use of charms, spells, and secrecy. Wizards and witches are forbidden to reveal anything about magic to Muggle society due to the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy, but that does not mean that the two worlds live entirely apart.
Welcome to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and Surrounding Grounds
"There was only one room inside. Hams and pheasants were hanging from the ceiling, a copper kettle was boiling on the open fire, and in the corner stood a massive bed with a patchwork quilt over it."
— The interior of Hagrid's Hut
There are few better places to arrive in the Wizarding World than at...
Hagrid's Hut, a small cabin located outside of Hogwarts Castle, on the edge of the Forbidden Forest, which serves as home to Rubeus Hagrid (and some of his pets, including Fang, his enormous, trusty yet cowardly canine), the Gamekeeper, Keeper of Keys and Grounds, and teacher of Care of Magical Creatures.
There is only one room inside, dominated by a large fireplace where, most of the time, a copper kettle is used to boil water. In the corner stands a massive bed with a patchwork quilt over it. Some of Hagrid's other personal belongings, including his pink umbrella, his moleskin coat, and his crossbow, are kept inside the hut.
