Il Nuraghe Santu Millanu o San Gemiliano (dal nome della vicina chiesetta ormai distrutta) si trova nel territorio di Nuragus a 280 metri dal Pozzo Sacro di Coni, su un leggero rialzo. Questa imponente costruzione quadrilobata, realizzata con blocchi di calcare, conserva una torre centrale di 6 metri di altezza, dalla quale sono visibili alcune finestrelle con un orientamento astronomico interessante. La “finestrella solstiziale”, posizionata nella parte superiore della torre, offre ogni 21 giugno una vista straordinaria: il tramonto del sole allineato con il Monte Santu Antine di Genoni e il suo pozzo sacro. Più in basso, una seconda finestra, orientata verso l’equinozio, permette di vedere il sole tramontare in direzione del Nuraghe Margini, sulla Giara di Gesturi, nei giorni degli equinozi. Un perfetto esempio di come alcuni nuraghi fossero legati al cielo e ai ritmi naturali.
Nuraghe Santu Millanu or St. Gemiliano (named after the nearby small church, now destroyed) is located in the territory of Nuragus at 280 meters from the Sacred Well of Coni, on a slight rise. This imposing four-lobed building, made of limestone blocks, retains a 6-meter-high central tower, from which several small windows with an interesting astronomical orientation are visible. The “little solstitial window,” positioned at the top of the tower, offers an extraordinary view every June 21: the setting sun aligned with Genoni's Mount Santu Antine and its sacred well. Further down, a second window, oriented toward the equinox, allows one to see the sun set in the direction of Nuraghe Margini, on the Giara di Gesturi, on the days of the equinoxes. A perfect example of how some nuraghi were linked to the sky and natural rhythms.
