Prior to the summer of 1975, most new movies premiered in the Spring or the Winter. They targeted adults. Then, a young director, with one big-screen box-office flop to his credit, took on an adaptation of a popular Peter Benchley novel. Despite major delays caused by finicky animatronic beats and serious cost overruns, this new film became a hit that terrified both teens and adults and shattered all box-office records to the day. Okay, this really, really should be straightforward this time. No red herrings, just the obvious solution. I wanted to honor the fiftieth anniversary of the film that changed it all. And, truthfully, I just couldn't figure out anything trickier.

Special Notes about the 2025 Puzzle Challenge: To be considered for Fastest Solver points, you must verify your solution with Certitude. All "point" scoring is arbitrary, subject to change, at the discretion of the cache owner, and probably completely meaningless (unless you just want to be announced sooner at the celebration party, which will probably happen sometime in March 2026). The real challenge is to see whether I can keep coming up with puzzles every month! To maintain fairness, hints should not be offered by the cache owner or other solvers until the fifteenth of the month.
