Like so many of the Holderness churches, this one is some distance away from the village it serves. In this case the reasion is fairly clear: It was first built in the 13th Century next to the medieval castle built by Baron de Ros (a signatory and "enforcer" on the first Magna Carta in 1215), the moat of which can still be seen. A Grade 1 listed building, it has of course been added to and adapted over the years
If you go to the end of the car park you may be pleasantly surprised at what you find. (And please no photos or spoilers about this - Let's keep it a surprise for everyone).
