Le lieu-dit correspond à une ancienne magnanerie située à l'extrémité nord-ouest du parc du château de Commarin.

Il s'agissait d'un élevage de vers à soie (sériculture).

L'ancien bâtiment construit dans la première moitié du XIXe siècle a été détruit en 2002.
