Geocache Description:

EN: This series of caches was inspired by ‘Lord of the Rings’ – a masterpiece that I took from the shelf in the public library some 30 years ago, and was enamored by ever since. I want you to take a walk along with the Fellowship of the Ring and get acquainted with some of the most important places in the Middle Earth where the story takes place. You could also enjoy some of the classic illustrations by Alan Lee and Ted Nasmith. Have fun!

Tolkien oparł krajobrazy, klimat, florę, faunę i nazwy miejsc w Shire na Worcestershire i Warwickshire, wiejskich hrabstwach w Anglii, gdzie mieszkał.

O keszu

Kiedy dochodzisz do umówionego miejsca, ku swojemu wielkiemu zaskoczeniu widzisz dom hobbita.

Będzie on potrzebny do znalezienia finalowej skrytki z serii - Lord of the Rings: Ruins of Barad-dûr.

EN: The Shire was a region inhabited by Hobbits. It is described as a small but beautiful and fruitful land, beloved by its inhabitants. The Hobbits had an extensive agricultural system in the Shire, but did not proceed with industrialisation. The Shire was quite densely populated in parts with many villages and a few towns, but it still was open enough to allow for wide forested areas and marshes. There were green, rolling hills and freshly tilled earth, along with gardens and flower boxes on window sills.

Tolkien based the Shire's landscapes, climate, flora, fauna, and place names on Worcestershire and Warwickshire, the rural counties in England where he lived.

About the cache

When you come to the agreed point, with a great surprise, you see a hobbit house. Do they still dwell in the Middle-Earth? However, you cannot enter, because the territory is clearly a private property.
Instead, you start looking for the clue to the riddle.

Stage 1: Find gray box of electric equipment with 'ZK-1b' label. Read the vertical number to the right of the label as ABCDE. Calculate final coordinates as N 50° 01.(D-A)(C-B)(C+A-B) ′ E 19° 47.D(C-B-A)(E-B-A)′

Stage 2: Look for a familiar symbol (Be careful, watch your step—there may be dangerous potholes!)

enlightenedATTENTION! Don't forget to write down the bonus code found in the logbook header. You will need it to find the final cache in the series - Lord of the Rings: Ruins of Barad-dûr.
